*Neighborhood Party!
I was asked if I would send out information to you all about a Neighborhood End of Summer Party this Saturday, August 18th starting at 5:30pm at the end of Love Lane (by the Martinez and Thomson homes). The party is being given by neighbors for neighbors. Not only is it a great opportunity to get together it is also a great opportunity to say good bye to the Barnum family who many of you have heard are leaving soon for a yearlong work assignment in Washington D.C..
Several neighbors have gotten together and are supplying the chicken, drinks and paper goods. They are requesting people bring a salad or dessert to share. Also, you will want to bring your own chair.
Be sure to tell your neighbors- everyone is invited!

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REQUESTS:
*Timp Hwy Commuter Lane Traffic Noise Alert
The Timpanogos Highway commuter lanes have recently opened and with the increased traffic that is closer to us on these lanes comes more engine noise particularly from large diesel trucks. I have learned that there is a hotline number at UDOT that anyone can call and voice their concerns. UDOT is collecting feedback in the next month that can potentially affect decisions concerning the usage of these lanes. They are considering restricting diesel engine brakes or restricting all truck traffic on the commuter lanes (which would help keep our neighborhood quiet and peaceful). UDOT welcomes feedback from residents near the highway. The hotline number is 877-222-3757.
*Book Club(Date Change)
Book club will be hosted by Nichole Teemant on August 30th at 7:30pm. The date was changed because of a scheduling conflict. Nochole's address is: 3329 N 100 W in "the walks"
We are reading: "Left To Tell" by Immaculée Ilibagiza. Also a few book clubbers decided to also read a church related book, "The Wind and the Waves" by Dean Hughes and you are welcome to read that and chat about it as well.

After working hard to get a couple of flowers to bloom this summer the cute little kids come and pick them! Maybe if they pick flowers only in their own yards that would help these yards look better. Thanks. I love the kids....really!!!

For those of you interested, My extremely talented cousin who has a BA in Art and Visual Communications has agreed to set up a studio at my house this summer to accommodate kids in our neighborhood. She is teaching classes to kids ages 3-8, and they will start on June 12th. An activity to keep your kids busy without you having to drive them anywhere!! Amazing, right!?
