 THIS WEEKS EVENTS:

*Book Club
When: Thursday Jan, 31st at 7:30 pm
Where: Meg Ford's home 263 E Backhand Ln.
What are we reading:  The Happiness Project by, Gretchen Rubin
Thought I would help everyone kick start their New Years resolutions with a self help book!  Since we didn't choose a date and a book together I just made the chose a date and a book myself.  Hope this works for everyone.

*Coat Drive

Clean out your closets and donate your gently used, clean coats and jackets that you no longer need to Community Action Services and Food Bank. Community Action will distribute the coats to families, children and seniors here in Utah County.

Health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body
temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of
coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively
and children find it difficult to learn.

For most, a warm coat solves the problem. But, for the
now, nearly 15% of our neighbors living in poverty, a warm
winter coat is a budget "extra."

Drop off locations:
  • Community Action Services & Food Bank - 815 South Freedom Blvd, Provo, UT
  • Lindon City Center - 100 North State Street, Lindon, UT
  • Spanish Fork City Hall - 40 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, UT
Donate soon. The Family Coat Drive only runs through January. To learn how to hold your own coat drive go to www.FamilyCoatDrive.org
Thank you!

*Timp Hwy Commuter Lane Traffic Noise Alert
The Timpanogos Highway commuter lanes have recently opened and with the increased traffic that is closer to us on these lanes comes more engine noise particularly from large diesel trucks.  I have learned that there is a hotline number at UDOT that anyone can call and voice their concerns.  UDOT is collecting feedback in the next month that can potentially affect decisions concerning the usage of these lanes.  They are considering restricting diesel engine brakes or restricting all truck traffic on the commuter lanes (which would help keep our neighborhood quiet and peaceful).  UDOT welcomes feedback from residents near the highway.  The hotline number is 877-222-3757 Or email them at: http://www.udot.utah.gov/sr92/contact.php
